Samsung is introducing a Rabbit Virtual Card in Samsung Wallet from October 20, enabling passengers with compatible Galaxy smartphones to pay for travel on participating Bangkok transport networks. The company said support would be introduced in stages, with all eligible Galaxy models expected to gain access by October 26.

Developed with Rabbit Card operator Bangkok Smartcard System, the service covers the Sukhumvit, Silom and Gold BTS lines and the Pink and Yellow MRT lines. It also works on BRT buses, at participating boat ticket machines and in shops that accept Rabbit payments.

The MRT Blue and Purple lines remain outside the service because they use a separate EMV Contactless system. Travellers on those routes still need an accepted bank card, prepaid card or another available ticketing option.

The virtual card connects to a My Rabbit account and must be activated and topped up before use. New customers must register an account and activate Rabbit Wallet; registration requires verification using a Thai national ID and a facial scan. Availability is restricted to selected Samsung smartphones.

Samsung also announced a cashback offer that reduces the fare to ฿20 for each qualifying journey, limited to two journeys per card. Registration begins on November 1 for the first 10,000 virtual cards registered. The offer ends on December 31 or when its allocation runs out, with eligible amounts above ฿20 returned to the linked Rabbit Wallet.

Samsung plans to extend payment support to other transport services later in the year, although the Rabbit service currently works only across participating networks.
