Malaysia’s Transport Minister Anthony Loke said on October 20 that ticket prices for the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link were expected to be made public before 2026 ends, ahead of its planned February 2027 opening.

Speaking at a press conference during the Transport Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Loke said the announcement would be made jointly with RTS Operations (RTSO). He said he could not announce fares unilaterally because the rail link was a bilateral project involving Malaysia and Singapore.

Loke said passengers would be given time to familiarise themselves with ticket prices before operations begin.

The opening had previously been expected in January. Singapore’s Land Transport Authority and Malaysia’s Transport Ministry said in an October 2 joint statement that RTS Operations Pte Ltd had informed them of the revised schedule. The February target remains conditional on RTSO obtaining independent safety certification for the link and the final approvals from regulators.
