The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has outlined preliminary tolls for the proposed Koh Chang bridge in Trat, with four-wheel vehicles facing a ฿340 charge for each crossing. The rates were presented on November 3 as part of the project's feasibility study and remain subject to approval.

Under the proposed tariff, motorcycles would pay ฿90 per journey and pedestrians would pay nothing. The charge would be ฿680 for vehicles with six to 10 wheels and ฿1,020 for larger vehicles. Four-wheel vehicles making a return journey would pay ฿680.

EXAT expects the bridge to begin operating in 2035. Estimated investment and associated costs total ฿18,761.95 million. The 5.90-kilometre route would link Khlong Yai subdistrict, in Laem Ngop district, with Koh Chang subdistrict, in Koh Chang district, allowing vehicle access around the clock rather than depending on ferry schedules.

A toll plaza on the Laem Ngop side would collect flat-rate charges through cash or electronic payment. EXAT used comparisons with current transport costs and traveller feedback to develop the preliminary rates.

The authority projects around 3,186 vehicle crossings a day in 2035 and 8,978 daily in 2064. Consultation meetings are scheduled on the mainland for November 12 and on Koh Chang for November 13, covering engineering, economics, finance and environmental studies.
