Vietnamese and South Korean businesses, universities and government representatives are expected to attend VKAISS 2026, a new conference aimed at expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence and semiconductors. Its programme includes discussions on workforce training, investment and technology transfer.

The Authority of Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence is organising the conference with FPT Corporation, the South Korea AI Semiconductor Fabless Industry Association (KAISA), and the Vietnam Software Association (VINASA) Semiconductor Industry Development Committee.

A morning forum will examine semiconductor workforce development, including implementation of Vietnam’s strategy under Decision No.1017/QD-TTg. Participants will discuss training partnerships and international workforce connections. A plenary session will address policy, investment attraction, supply chains and the formation of bilateral semiconductor industrial clusters.

Companies, research institutes and universities are expected to exchange memoranda of understanding during the plenary session. Neither the parties involved nor the terms have been announced. Expected participants include the National Nanofab Centre, DeepX, Dnotitia, CoAsia Semi Vietnam, Gachon University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Business matchmaking and technology demonstrations are also planned, covering AI applications, chip design, packaging and testing. These activities are intended to help Vietnamese enterprises find South Korean partners. After the inaugural edition, organisers expect future conferences to alternate between Vietnam and South Korea.
