LINE OpenChat reports 24 million monthly active users in Thailand
LINE Thailand said monthly usage sessions exceeded 2.25 billion as of September 30, 2026, compared with 1.8 billion previously.
LINE Thailand said on November 5, 2026 that OpenChat's monthly active user count had risen from 20 million to 24 million following changes to how users find communities through the messaging app.
The redesign places community discovery in the app's third tab, offering recommendations based on interests alongside trending topics. OpenChat hosts groups covering subjects including entertainment, education, careers and lifestyle, allowing people to meet others outside their existing contacts.
According to the company, monthly usage sessions totalled more than 2.25 billion as of September 30, 2026, up from 1.8 billion. It also highlighted features including AI-generated conversation summaries, threaded discussions and alerts about fraud.
LINE Thailand said it was expanding partnerships with brands, entertainment businesses and educational institutions to link online groups with in-person activities. Its plans for OpenChat focus on making communities easier to find, encouraging participation, supporting community creators and developing partnerships across industries.
