Pertamina signs pact with PLN and Len on electric motorcycle charging
The partnership will use Pertamina’s petrol stations and retail sites to support Indonesia’s national electric motorcycle programme.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Len Industri and PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to develop charging and battery-swapping infrastructure for Indonesia’s national electric motorcycle programme, known as Molinas.
Directors of the three state-owned companies signed the agreement in Jakarta on 27 October, with Danantara Indonesia leaders attending. Pertamina Patra Niaga retail marketing director Eko Ricky said the company’s role would centre on downstream infrastructure, integrating motorcycle charging and battery-swapping facilities into its petrol stations and strategic retail locations.
Eko said 837 Pertamina petrol stations had been developed into Green Energy Stations across Indonesia. The company reported that its petrol stations already had 112 EV Charging Station units and 122 Battery Swapping Station units serving electric vehicles, including motorcycles.
He said the partnership aimed to make supporting energy infrastructure accessible across different regions, rather than focusing only on supplying vehicles. Pertamina Patra Niaga also linked its participation to Indonesia’s target of net-zero emissions by 2060 or earlier.
Launched by President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, Molinas seeks to develop an independent domestic electric two-wheeler industry covering local components, manufacturing, batteries and after-sales services.
