PT Kia Sales Indonesia has begun accepting advance orders for its Carens EV electric multi-purpose vehicle, offering four variants at estimated Jakarta on-the-road prices of Rp382 million to Rp432 million. The model was introduced at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026.

Kia Sales Indonesia VP Commercial Welly Nugroho said the company was assessing customer acceptance of the proposed prices before confirming them at launch. The estimated starting price is lower than that of the BYD M6, which sells for Rp395 million to Rp445 million.

The Carens EV line-up comprises Air and Earth versions. Both have a six-seat option with second-row captain’s chairs or a seven-seat layout with a bench in the second row. Welly said Standard and Long Range choices would each be available with either seating layout.

Kia lists a 42 kWh NMC battery for the Air, with a claimed driving range of up to 404 km per full charge. Its electric motor delivers 99 kW, or about 134 PS, and maximum torque of 255 Nm.

The Earth has a 51.4 kWh battery and a claimed range of up to 490 km, with motor output of 126 kW, or about 171 PS. These ranges are specification claims; everyday results depend on road conditions, driving style, air-conditioning use and other factors.

Every variant has a Dual Panoramic Display with a combined size of 26.6 inches. Listed equipment for the Air also includes automatic climate control, rear-passenger air conditioning and small tables behind the front seats.
