Cohere and CSIT partner on AI for Singapore national security
Singapore’s defence technology agency will use Cohere models and its North platform to develop applications for secure networks.

Cohere and Singapore’s Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) have entered a partnership to develop artificial intelligence applications for national security work in highly secure settings. CSIT, a technical agency within the Ministry of Defence, will use the company’s enterprise models and North agentic AI platform.
The organisations are developing and testing tools to retrieve knowledge securely, automate analysis and generate reports. Their work includes agentic workflows intended to make national security operations more efficient.
The agreement comes after a pilot during which Cohere ran AI on premises in secure environments, connecting it to systems and workflows already in use.
Alvin Huang, CSIT’s Chief, Data and AI, said the agency was building AI-enabled capabilities to reinforce Singapore’s digital defences as cyber threats become more sophisticated and attackers use AI.
According to Cohere, its offering supports on-premises deployment, role-based access and interoperability across AI models. It also provides centralised tools to govern agents, workflows, policies and compliance. The company says the technology is designed to serve thousands of users and handle high-priority workloads in secure settings.
