Bitdeer considers further investment in Malaysia’s AI infrastructure
Anwar says the company is refining a long-term proposal, while stressing that investment must support jobs and technical training for Malaysians.

Bitdeer Technologies Group is working on a long-term proposal for AI infrastructure investment in Malaysia, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said. The Singapore-headquartered company has indicated that it wants to keep investing in the country.
In a post on X, Anwar said Bitdeer founder, chairman and chief executive officer Jihan Wu conveyed that intention during a courtesy visit with a delegation. He attributed the company’s interest to confidence in the Madani government’s digital transformation policies and direction.
Anwar said he stressed that the investment must generate employment and offer training to build Malaysians’ expertise, particularly in AI, engineering and advanced computing. He added that the government would facilitate strategic investments to support local industries and create more high-value jobs as the digital economy grows.
Bitdeer, which is listed on Nasdaq, supplies cloud computing services for AI as well as infrastructure for Bitcoin mining.
