Indonesia plans 50 per cent e-commerce fee discount for small businesses
The programme targets local micro and small businesses with annual turnover no higher than Rp15 billion and is expected to begin by the end of October 2026.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises is preparing to halve e-commerce fees for eligible local micro and small businesses. Temmy Satya Permana, the ministry’s Deputy for Small Business, said the programme is targeted to start by the end of October 2026.
Eligibility will be limited to businesses whose annual turnover does not exceed Rp15 billion. Temmy said the Minister of MSMEs had signed a decree providing the programme’s legal basis, and integration of the ministry’s system with SAPA UMKM was under way.
Applicants will register through SAPA UMKM. The ministry will first review their data, then pass it to e-commerce platforms for additional verification. Businesses satisfying the decree’s requirements will qualify for the 50 per cent fee discount.
Temmy said about 42,000 sellers of local products had been identified, although their registration and verification data was still being processed. He hoped the incentive would bring more local sellers onto e-commerce platforms and help smaller businesses reach wider markets.
The formal launch will take place with the minister when the programme’s arrangements are ready, Temmy said. The ministry also plans to broaden its platform partnerships to include TikTok Shop and Tokopedia, and introduce similar programmes in other ministries and institutions.
