Dong Xoai deploys AI assistants and robots for public services
The Vietnamese ward has also introduced tools for internal administration and plans more guidance for residents and businesses using digital services.

Reception robots and AI-based chat and voice assistants are now helping residents navigate government services in Dong Xoai ward, Dong Nai city, Vietnam. The ward’s Public Administration Service Centre introduced the systems as part of its administrative reform and digital government efforts, VNA reported.
Using facial recognition and spoken interaction, the robots guide visitors to counters and respond to routine enquiries, including questions about application progress. Residents can also obtain procedural information remotely, while website and social media assistants accept enquiries and feedback at any time.
Tran Anh My, the centre’s director, said the technology was expected to lessen staff workloads and make services more accessible. Local resident Ngo Hoang Lang said mobile AI applications and spoken directions from the robots had made administrative procedures easier and cut the need for return visits.
Inside the ward administration, officials have access to Smart AI, a chatbot within the information portal and a system for monitoring key performance indicators. These tools are intended to support data retrieval, task processing and oversight of work progress.
The centre logged more than 9,500 applications from January 1 to September 15, 2026, entirely through online submissions. It completed 9,300 without any overdue cases; outstanding applications remained within their processing limits. Dong Xoai scored 97.56 points for public service performance, placing ninth out of Dong Nai city’s 95 communes and wards.
Over the first nine months of 2026, staff held 20 guidance sessions in residential quarters, supporting more than 9,000 resident visits. The centre plans additional outreach and direct assistance for residents and businesses as part of Project 06 for 2026–2030.
