Immersion Cooling Platform to Remove Thermal Ceiling on AI Racks Announced

Oct 2, 2026

Triton Thermal has announced that its Atlas One platform uses single-phase immersion cooling to remove the thermal ceiling on air-cooled AI racks, allowing accelerators to hold full performance at much higher rack densities.

Houston, United States, October 2, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Triton Thermal, a Houston-based provider of liquid cooling engineering and services for data centers, has announced its Atlas One platform that uses single-phase immersion cooling to remove the thermal ceiling that limits air-cooled AI infrastructure. The approach allows GPUs and other accelerators to hold full performance at much higher rack densities than air cooling can support.

More information is available at https://tritonthermal.com/gpu-thermal-ceiling-atlas-one/.

Rack power has climbed sharply with each generation of AI hardware. According to a July 2024 analysis by SemiAnalysis, the newer rack models require approximately 120 kW, compared with about 40 kW for the higher-density air-cooled H100 racks that preceded them. This is putting a greater emphasis on sourcing alternative cooling options, explains Triton Thermal.

The company also notes that air cooling stops working at roughly 40 to 50 kW per rack, and the constraint is airflow rather than heat tolerance, so a rack at that density needs up to 5,000 cubic feet per minute of air, more than fans and containment can practically deliver. When that limit is reached, accelerators do not fail outright. They throttle, lowering their own clock speeds to protect themselves, so the hardware keeps running but delivers less compute than was purchased.

Atlas One avoids this limit by submerging hardware in a dielectric fluid that stays in direct contact with every heat-generating component. Because cooling capacity depends on the fluid rather than on the volume of air a room can move, airflow no longer sets the ceiling, and accelerators can maintain sustained boost clocks rather than short-lived peak clocks that fall away as heat builds.

Its architecture avoids the field-built ductwork and airflow engineering that air cooling demands at scale. Triton Thermal describes its single-phase immersion systems as capable of supporting racks exceeding 100 kW and reducing cooling energy use by up to 50 percent compared with air cooling.

Atlas One sits within Triton Thermal's broader portfolio of data center cooling services, which covers assessment of existing facilities, design of new builds, vendor-neutral system selection, and ongoing support.

China’s AI compute ambitions demand innovation

China has set a five-year goal for the expansion of intelligent computing capacity to drive artificial intelligence (AI) that calls for a more than fourfold increase on what was in place at the end of June this year. To reach the 2030 target while being blocked by the United States from importing the most advanced Western-made AI chips will require innovation, adaptation and the application and coordination of vast resources. Judging by the 177 per cent increase in capacity achieved in the year...

Hong Kong users caught off guard as Anthropic tightens VPN access to Claude

US artificial intelligence company Anthropic appears to have stepped up enforcement of geographical restrictions on its Claude models in Hong Kong, with local users reporting abrupt account suspensions after accessing the service through virtual private networks (VPNs). A wave of complaints surfaced on social media platforms X and Reddit on Thursday, as users who had operated accounts for months using VPNs found them suddenly disabled. One Hong Kong-based user posted on the “r/claude” subreddit...

The advice gap: Why VCs don’t practice what they preach

Walk into any pitch meeting, attend any LP conference, or read any VC blog, and you’ll be handed the same well-worn gospel: build diverse teams, move fast, be transparent, hire for culture, flatten hierarchies, and always be learning. This is the catechism of the modern venture capitalist, wisdom dispensed freely, with conviction, to the founders […] The post The advice gap: Why VCs don’t practice what they preach appeared first on e27.

From stock losses to bond bets: 5 figures investors are watching in China

A sell-off in technology stocks pushed mainland Chinese equities to their lowest level in more than a year, even as Beijing stepped up support for the economy with a key interest rate cut. At the same time, Chinese government bonds attracted fresh interest as US Treasury yields climbed to a new high. Here are some figures that have captured market attention this week. China’s CSI 300 Index hits 13-month low Mainland China’s CSI 300 Index dropped 2.2 per cent on Monday to its lowest level since...

Why Philippine companies are winning AI mentions but losing control of context

For years, companies have treated Google rankings as the front door to online discovery. A new study from Manila-based digital marketing agency Spiralytics suggests that door is no longer the only one that matters. As consumers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Perplexity for product recommendations, comparisons and buying advice, brands face a new visibility […] The post Why Philippine companies are winning AI mentions but losing control of context appeared first on e27.

The October 2 US jobs report lands soon. Could it make or break Bitcoin’s rally?

The cryptocurrency sector is moving higher in a coordinated fashion. Bitcoin rose 1.70 per cent to US$85,002.11 over the past 24 hours. The total crypto market climbed 1.16 per cent to US$2.89T. This advance rests on two powerful forces. Institutional optimism and policy progress are working together. The result is a rally that looks more […] The post The October 2 US jobs report lands soon. The next information advantage is knowing what changed

AI has made it much easier for decision-makers to work with information. A company announcement can be summarised in seconds, a long annual report can be condensed, and a chatbot can help compare competitors or explain an unfamiliar industry. These are useful improvements, but they still solve only part of the information problem. Most AI […] The post The next information advantage is knowing what changed appeared first on e27.

The hidden economics of autonomous AI agents

For many startup founders, the first attempt to understand the cost of artificial intelligence (AI) begins in the wrong place: the model provider’s pricing page. They calculate the price of input and output tokens, compare one model against another, and try to forecast usage as if AI were a simple utility meter. That approach may […] The post The hidden economics of autonomous AI agents appeared first on e27.
